Bostik C&D Division appoints Phil Pitts
Hardwood Installation Products
Market Manager

MIDDLETON, MASS. (AUG  4, 2008) — Bostik Inc.’s Construction & Distribution (C&D) Division has appointed Phil Pitts Hardwood Installation Products Market Manager.
Formerly Ceramic Product Manager, Pitts joined the company
15 years ago as Technical Service Manager for Bostik Flooring.
In 1994, Pitts was instrumental in developing, testing and successfully launching Bostik’s Best®, which 14 years later remains the flagship of the Bostik hardwood adhesives line and has evolved into the industry gold standard.
Pitts, who holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from Keene State College in
New Hampshire, reports directly to Robert McNamara, Bostik C&D Division’s Director of Sales & Marketing.
“Phil now brings to the hardwood side his vast experience in product research and development, manufacturing, field testing and installation troubleshooting,” McNamara said. “Having served eight years as our Technical Service Manager, Phil also brings with him a firm grasp of both the hardwood market’s evolving, growing needs and our industry-leading Bostik and DURABOND hardwood flooring installation and aftercare solutions.”
During the past seven years, Pitts directed the launch of numerous ceramic installation solutions including epoxy resins, sealants, caulking, underlayments and mixing and application kits complete with hardware. He now plans to do the same on the hardwood side.

“There are plenty of opportunities for growth on the commercial and residential sides of hardwood flooring,” Pitts said. “Hotels, restaurants and retail stores increasingly are embracing hardwood flooring, and so are homeowners for a number of reasons.”
Pitts said green building also is bolstering demand for hardwood flooring and will help shape several planned Bostik hardwood installation innovations.
