Solventborne Adhesives

Solventborne Adhesives (SBAs) are still the preferred adhesive product of choice for many demanding applications. When a combination of flexibility, immediate bond strength, toughness, teh capability of bonding dissimilar materials (like rubber to stainless steel) or where maintaining historically consistent levels of performance are mandatory, choose one of the following Bostik solvent-borne adhesives to meet your requirements.

L1007M

Primer designed to improve adhesion to many materials including iron, steel (chrome-plated) and stainless), aluminum, glass, plastics, concrete and other difficult surfaces in aerospace, automotive and construction applications, as well as in the manufacturing of electronics, textiles or plastics.

L1095M

2-part contact adhesive provides exellent heat, water and oil resistance. Used to bond various rubbers, coated fabrics and rigid plastics to themselves or to each other. Not for flexible PVC. Applications for this SBAs include fabric seaming on inflatable or air-supported structures, indurstrial exposure suits and foul weather gear.
Suggested Curing Agent: Boscodur 9RX

L1096M

1-part or 2-part fast tack, all purpose contact adhesive used for bonding high pressure laminates to wood, particle-board or metals, as well as for rubbers or rubber foams to rigid plastics or metals. Not for flexible PVC.
Suggested Curing Agent: not required if 1-C Boscodur 9RX.

LADH1097A

1-part adhesive with good heat, water and solvent resistance for high performance, all purpose bonding of fabrics, woods, laminates and plastics in construction assembly applications. Not for flexible PVC.

L1125M

2-part adhesive with high immediate strength for bonding rubber-coated fabrics, SBR, neoprene or Hypalon materials to themselves or to each other. This solvent-borne adhesive provides strong flexible bonds in applications, including life vests, life raft inflatables and industrial exposure suits.
Suggested Curing Agent: Boscodur 25C.

L1142M

1 part contact adhesive with good heat and water resistance. Used for high performance all-purpose bonding (to themselves or each other) or rubbers, metals, woods, rigid plastics (such as ABS or phenolics), fabrics, some leathers, high pressure laminates. Not recommended for flexible PVC.

LADH1531A

1-part spray-grade contact adhesive combindes high immediate bond strength with long open-time for product assembly or construction applications on most substrate materials, except flexible PVC. Reduced HAPS content replacement for former L1531.

L1685M

1-part adheisve provides strong bonds to cured or uncured neoprene and butyl to concrete, wood or metal. This industrial adhesive offers excellent resistance to cold-to boiling water, detergents and aliphatic oils. (Example: Bonding cellulose sponge to metal mop assembly.)

1-part high performance, pressure-sensitive adhesive. High initial grab, excellent shear and peel strength. For PSA bonding applications on metals (steel, aluminum), rigid plastics, nylons, polyesters and woods.

1-part adhesive dries quickly to a tough, elastic bond with good resistance to water, oils, detergents and plasticizers. This solventborne adhesive is used for bonding vinyl to rigid plastics, foams and metals for interior trim, upholstery and cabin construction in transportation, automotive, aerospace and marine applications.

L4145-14H

1-part adhesive dries quickly to a tough, elastic bond with good resistance to water, oils, detergents and plasticizers. 1-part special heat-cured adhesive, thermoplastic up to 250°F and thermosetting above 250°F. Used for bonding metals, rigid or thermoset plastics, plywood, hardwoods and ceramics bonded to themselves or each other; also as a coating for copper wire windings, electronic and audio loudspeaker components.

L7040A

2-part (with L7040B) fast curing adhesive used to enhance bonding of Buna-N, Thiokol or other rubber compounds to nylon, rayon, or other synthetic fabrics. Can also be used as a primer on steel, brass or aluminum to promote stronger bonds to Buna-N butyl or neoprene rubber substrates.

L7040B

2-part (with L7040A) fast curing adhesive used to enhance bonding of Buna-N, Thiokol or other rubber compounds to nylon, rayon, or other synthetic fabrics. L7132

2-part vinyl bonding adhesive system for vacuum-forming PVC to fibrous, porous or foam substrates used in automotive, aerospace, transportation, furniture, upholstery, luggage and other applications. Strong adhesion to polyester films, plastic laminating films, foils, and sheet metal surfaces.
Suggested Curing Agent: Boscodur 4.

L7132K

Kit (7132R adhesive with premeasured Boscodur 24T) per BMS 5-127, Type 2, Class 2, Revision "F". For vacuum-forming PVC to fibrous or foam substrates in automotive, aerospace, furniture, upholstery, luggage and other applications. Suggested Curing Agent: Boscodur 24T.

L7133

1-part adhesive specifically designed for bonding vinyl-coated fabrics with superior resistance to high humidity and prolonged stress at elevated temperatures. This solventborne adhesive is used for vinyl lap seam construction for air inflatable shelters, tarps, or covers. Can be used as a 2-part with Boscodur 4 in most critical situations. Suggested Curing Agent: not required if 1-C; as a 2-part (optional), use Boscodur 4.
